Nobody died from warming or nuclear winter in Nevil Shute's 1957 novel ON THE BEACH?.

Nobody died from global warming or nuclear winter in Nevil Shute's 1957 novel ''ON THE BEACH''????

On a New York Times blog at the Dot Earth site, I commented the other day that it is worth noting that the 1957 novel by Nevil Shute (and Hollywood movie two years later) titled "On the Beach" was a wake up call about nuclear war and nuclear winter , and in my PR work with the cli-fi movement, what I am looking for in the future is that writer, male or female, who might sit down and write the "On the Beach" of the Anthrocene Age, a novel and movie that will serve to wake up the world about global warming that same way that Shute (whose real name was Nevil Shute Norway) did with his 1957 novel. I expect the ''On The Beach'' of AGW to be published in the next 30 years.

My response to Robert is this: In this ON THE BEACH of the future about people set in a global warming impact event scenario in some future time period, there WILL BE people dyin from global warming. AND IN FACT, in the 1957 novel, characters and people DID DIE FROM NUCLEAR FALLOUT that covered the world! How could you not see that Robert? Did you read the book or see the movie?
